A bit of history

1962

The Association of Smelters of Vizcaya is constituted. On this basis, in 1978 the Foundry Association of the Basque Country and Navarra (AFV) was constituted as a body of representation, management and defense of the common interests of companies in a traditional sector in the Basque Country, the Foundry Sector.

1997

The AFV agrees with the Foundry Association of Catalonia (AFC), the other focal point of the Sector in Spain, to set up the Spanish Federation of Foundry Associations (FEAF). FEAF has its head office in Bilbao, in the headquarters of the AFV, and both organisations share the same resources, not only material but also human.

1998

FEAF assumes the Secretariat of the Spanish Die Casting Technical and Development Association (TEDFUN). In this way the TEDFUN´s companies are part of FEAF.

Representation of the sector in the Institutions

FEAF is recognized by all Administrations as the representative of the Foundry Sector in Spain.

FEAF is member of the European Foundry Association CAEF, the umbrella organization of the European Foundry industry, represented by the national foundry associations of 22 European countries.
